The "Old" Academy travelled to Tranmere Rovers today, where they played their Merseyside rivals at 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1995 levels, and came away with 2 wins, a draw, and one defeat, which is a fantastic achievement.

The 1991's (Coaches Rod Holroyd/Simon Jones) kept up their unbeaten resord for the season with a convincing victory despite a 1 - 2 scoreline. Poor finishing kept the score respectable. The scorers were Chris Brown of Caernarfon, and Daniel Rylance of Porthmadog.
Glynne Salmon the Head of Youth Development commented that our side was as good as he had seen this season, and immediately invited three of our players to join Tranmere Rovers.

The 1992's (Steven Bee/Tony Maxwell) drew 3 all in an evenly contested game, and may even consider themselves unlucky not to have snatched a win, however the Tranmere keeper was outstanding. The caernarfon scorers were Ben Davies, and Aled Griffiths 2.

The 1993's under coach Kevin Hughes put in an outstanding performance to record a comfortable 7 -4 win. The scorers were Jamie McDaid 3, Dylan Parry 2, Thomas Williams, and Euron Williams.

The 1995's (Gerald Parry / Clive), became unstuck against a very strong Tranmere side losing by 7 - 0, although there were some good individual performances. The youngsters have yet to come to terms with the physicality of the Academy games in the North West.

The CTA Management Team wish to thank all the players, coaches, and parents for ensuring the day was a success. They also on behalf of the players wish to thank Glynne and his staff for looking after the boys so well.
