Caernarfon Town Academy travelled to play Chester City FC at 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1995 levels. Despite a mixed day all the players, coaches, parents, and staff enjoyed a good day out. Despite setbacks in the younger age groups, Caernarfon came out on top in the older age groups.

The 1991's were again the shining beacon of the Academy dominating the Chester side for most of the game. They took an early lead one goal lead, in the 1st quarter, but it should really have been several more, as the opposition never mounted an attempt on goal. Chester equalised soon as the second period started after a defensive mix up. Soon after Caernarfon re established a stranglehold on the game and ran out 3 - 1 victors, but it really should have been more. The Caernarfon scorers were Iwan Owens, Julian Cleary, & Dylan Huws, and were generally had too much pace and power for their opponents. Coach Rod Holroyd was very pleased with the victory and the performance, but will be working on finishing during next Sunday training.

The 1992's were unlucky not to have won their game, and ended up drawing three all, after Chester scored a last minute equaliser. The Caernarfon scorers were the deadly duo James Evans 2, and Iwan Lewis 1. Coach Steve Bee was very disappointed at the draw, and felt his team had the edge of an entertaining battle.

The 1993's missing 3 key players, one of whom had moved up to play in a higher age group, were soundly beaten seven nil. Coach Kevin Thomas conceded that his side were beaten by a better side on the day, but has plenty of coaching points to work as a result of the game.

The 1995 age group, played against an older Chester age group, and were soundly beaten 12 - 2, with Phillip Warrington scoring two, and generally outstanding for the cofis. Many Caernarfon players were 6 and 7 year old, and it was their first taste of football at this level. Coach Gerald Parry was pleased with the effort of his players, and knows that his players will learn from the experience.

The Academy Managemnt Team wish to thank all the players, and parents for their loyalty and support at this time. They also wish to thank GilianPrice for her work in organising the trip, and also to Eric the Physio, for volunteering his services, and he was kept busy.

Between now and February games have been arranged against Chesterfield, Wrexham, and Tranmere Rovers.
