Bradford
v Caernarfon Town
Sunday,
15th September
Town
travelled to Bradford with a few key players missing. Shan Jones was suspended following her sending off the previous week.
Yasmin Leung was on International duty with Wales U17’s, and Manon Lloyd Williams was also unavailable.
It
was a tight first half with both teams creating chances. Town received a major blow just before half time when experienced
player Tania Jones suffered bad ligaments damage in her knee. Town had to re-shuffle to cover for the loss of Tania but they
struggled as forward options were very limited. Caernarfon GK Kate Jones made a tremendous save after a goal mouth scramble
which Town were very lucky not to concede before half time. Both teams were happy to go in with a 0-0 scoreline.
As
Caernarfon had to re-shuffle with Tania's injury, they had a bad 15mins start to the second half. They conceded 4 goals, all
great goals from the home team.
Caernarfon got their shape back and got organised again. They dominated the last 20mins
of the game but lacked attacking options. They got their reward on 75mins when youngster Katie Bowe scored a cracking goal
from 25yds with a left foot drive. Ceryl Jones tried to create opportunities but found herself in her own half too often in
the game. So with a final score of 4-1, the Cofis once again were back on the bus with no points.
