West Auckland v Caernarfon Town

Sunday, 2nd September

After a 6 hr bus journey to Durham, the Cofi girls struggled to keep up with the home team and they found themselves 2-0 down after 10mins. Town woke up and started to compete with the home team and played good football. They were dominating all over the field and on 25 mins, Ceryl Jones brought the Cofis back into the game with a free-kick from the edge of the box. Town had a couple of chance to go in equal at the break but the ball wouldn’t go in the back of the net.

The second half was a much better game for both teams as good football was seen by both sets of players. Town had most of the possession but couldn’t make the most of it in the final third.

It was the home team who took all 3 points as they defended well to keep Caernarfon out and from equalising. There were no goals in the second half but Town deserved something from the game but went home empty handed
