Caernarfon Town v Hull City

Sunday, 23rd September

The Cofis had a couple of players missing because of injury but they still had a strong 11 starting the game. But this wasn’t to be seen, it was the worst display of the season so far from the Cofis in the first half. They struggled to keep possession and couldn’t find the form they’d shown the supporters in their last home game against Middlesborough.

As Hull had lost their first 4 games of the season, Town didn’t expect the visitors to start as they did. They were dominating all over the field and showed Town how to play football. They got their reward on 30 mins when the forward finished with a great strike giving the home keeper no chance. Although it was a poor performance by Town, they had chances to equalise a few times but couldn’t finish.

Caernarfon played much better football in the second half. They got the ball down and played a decent passing game. They got their reward on 65mins when Shan Jones found herself in space in the box and she fired home passed the keeper to equalise. Town playmaker Ceryl Jones stepped up a gear on 70mins and created chances for the team. Ailsa Orlik and Shan Jones came close on a couple of occasions but it was the old head Ceryl Jones who took control and struck the ball from 25 yards into the bottom corner. Town midfield were dominating and Ceryl went on another surging run into the oppositions' box, beat 4 or 5 players and cheekily slotted the ball to the right of the keeper into the bottom corner.

Town’s second half performance gave them a well-deserved 3-1 victory as they held the visitors from creating chances in the second half.
